Scott Peters Campaign Points Voters to Petersā€™ Record of Getting Things Done

September 8, 2016

Campaign Releases New Webpage Detailing Peters’ Legislative Accomplishments

Today, the Scott Peters for Congress campaign highlighted the strong list of bipartisan accomplishments Scott Peters has achieved during his first two terms in Congress. From leading the charge to get San Diego its fair share of funding to end homelessness, to securing investments in San Diego’s infrastructure, to helping to create the biotech jobs of the future, Congressman Peters has a proven track record as a problem solver who works across the aisle to get things done even in a broken Congress.

As voters begin to turn more attention to getting the facts about the candidates in the 52nd congressional district, the campaign announced a new webpage that describes Peters’ legislative accomplishments in Congress. It includes amendments he’s introduced and passed to support San Diego’s military and veterans, victories he’s achieved for San Diego’s innovators and small business owners, and a description of the more than $1 billion in federal investment Peters has succeeded in bringing to the region.

“Over the next several weeks, we’ll use this campaign as an opportunity to tell voters about all that Scott has been able to achieve for San Diego, despite Congress being log-jammed by partisan gridlock,” said MaryAnne Pintar, Campaign Manager for Scott Peters for Congress. “This lengthy and substantive list will remind voters they have an effective champion in Congress who is fighting for their security, their prosperity, and their future.”

The Peters campaign also highlighted awards that Rep. Peters has received from groups in San Diego and across the country in recognition of his bipartisan problem solving. The long list includes a number of honors from the biotech and innovation sectors for supporting job creation, and the Sarah Mosier Award from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Southwest, which recognizes Scott for excellence and leadership in advocating for women’s rights.
