FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 27, 2014
San Diego – Congressman Scott Peters announced that over the previous 22 months, he and his district staff had helped residents of the 52nd Congressional District garner more than $1.2 million in benefits, including about $750,000 in due Veterans Affairs benefits, $130,000 from the Social Security Administration, and $130,000 from the Internal Revenue Service.Despite the gridlock in Congress, and Speaker John Boehner’s decision to adjourn Congress before many of the nation’s most pressing issues were resolved, Congressman Scott Peters is still getting the job done for San Diego and Poway.
“Scott Peters has made it a top priority to help people break through government red tape to get the benefits they are due,” said Alex Roth, communications director for the Scott Peters re-election campaign. “Time and again during his first term, Rep. Peters has proved he’s a problem-solver who gets things done.”
