Rep. Peters Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement regarding Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 through October 15:

“Hispanic Americans have made significant contributions to our nation’s diverse cultural heritage and economic success throughout our history. Across the country, especially in San Diego, communities have been enriched by Hispanic leaders, neighbors, and friends.

“As we celebrate Hispanic heritage and the achievements of the Hispanic community over the next month, it is important to remember that there is more to be done to improve equal access to opportunity and success for all Americans.  We will have to work together to pass comprehensive immigration reform, improve our regional and national economic opportunities, and ensure a high quality education for every child.”
