Scott Peters announced an endorsement from the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), the largest law enforcement organization in California, and largest statewide law enforcement association in the nation. PORAC represents more than 77,000 public safety members and over 950 law enforcement associations and advocates for the public safety needs in our communities.
“Law enforcement across our nation are given an important task, keeping our neighborhoods safe,” said Congressman Peters. “I look forward to working with law enforcement professionals, along with San Diego community members to ensure law enforcement have the resources to protect our communities while creating reasonable police reform policies and measures to hold officers to the highest possible standard.”
Since he was elected in 2012, Congressman Peters has worked with community members and law enforcement, creating an extra layer of accountability while ensuring law enforcement has the resources needed to continue doing their jobs. More recently, the congressman was an original co-sponsor of the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
Rep. Scott Peters is a Democrat who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013. He is a member of the powerful House Energy & Commerce Committee, the House Budget Committee, as well as Vice Chair for Policy of the New Democrat Coalition, which is the largest ideological caucus in the House, and he is presently a Regional Vice Chair for western states of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
