During National Small Business Week, the Scott Peters for Congress campaign proudly announces a second endorsement from a group that advocates for small business growth and opportunity. The Mexican American Business and Professional Association (MABPA) is backing Rep. Scott Peters in his 2016 reelection bid.
“For decades the Mexican American Business and Professional Association has worked to expand opportunity and prosperity for San Diegans,” Peters said. “I am proud to have the backing of these small business owners and civic leaders who share my commitment to creating high-quality jobs and improving education and economic opportunity for working families.”
MAPBA is made up of several hundred small business owners, community leaders, and elected officials who have worked with Rep. Peters and his staff on issues ranging from cutting red tape for small business owners, making college more affordable and accessible for all, and increasing access to affordable health care to comprehensive immigration reform and securing federal funding for the expansion of the Otay Mesa border crossing, which is important to large and small employers seeking to do business and trade within the San Diego/Tijuana mega region.
Yesterday, the Peters campaign announced the endorsement of the Downtown San Diego Partnership. These endorsements, along with an earlier endorsement from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, show that Rep. Peters’ high-profile and effective championing of San Diego’s innovation economy has led to overwhelming support for his reelection from San Diego’s innovators and job creators.
