Filipino American Chamber of Commerce San Diego
Backs Scott Peters for Re-Election
FACCSD Joins Prominent API Community Leaders to support Peters
San Diego – Ahead of the June 3rd primary election, the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce San Diego has endorsed Scott Peters for re-election to the 52nd Congressional District.
Peters has also earned support from a diverse, bipartisan group of API community leaders including Dr. Allen Chan, Dr. Aurora Cudal, Dr. Alan Gin, Margaret Iwanaga-Penrose, Judy Ki, Eric Le, Dr. Mitsuo Tomita, Yen Tu, Paul Valen, Sid Voorakkara, and Sally Wong-Avery.
“Scott has made our community a priority and helped provide our next generation with better opportunities,” said Willie Racelis, Board Chairman of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce San Diego. “His message and plans addressing critical issues in education, jobs and economy, immigration, and energy and the environment strongly resonate with our aspirations. I am confident that Scott Peters will continue his impressive work ensuring that the federal government is responsive to our needs.”
“The Asian Pacific American community makes significant contributions to our region’s rich and diverse culture. It’s an honor to represent this growing community in Washington, and to continue promoting its achievements throughout the country,” said Peters. “I’m proud to have earned the support of so many community leaders who support my approach of working together to solve problems, strengthen our economy, and give everyone an opportunity to succeed.”
Peters is a member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, a non-partisan organization for Congressional members committed to promoting the well being of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. The Asian and Pacific Islander communities make up roughly 18% of the 52nd District’s population.
Founded over 25 years ago, the FACCSD is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help its members succeed in their businesses and professions and to serve, unite and solidify the Filipino American business community.
Scott Peters is a freshman member of Congress, elected in 2012. He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. Scott Peters is the only candidate in the race with a demonstrated track record of working across party lines to get things done. Peters is endorsed by worker advocates, public safety organizations, women’s rights groups, and national environmental organizations. He is also backed by some of San Diego’s most prominent Republican business leaders, including five former Chairmen of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
