Congressman Peters Votes to Extend VA Community Clinics Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 3521, which extends the ability of the Veterans Administration (VA) to lease medical facility spaces, including two outpatient clinics in San Diego. These community-based clinics allow for better, more convenient care for our nation’s veterans, and have the potential to save federal money in the process. The bill passed the House 346-1 and now moves to the Senate for action.

“This is a good bill for San Diego’s veterans as it allows for more convenient care at community-based clinics in our area,” Rep. Peters said. “Providing vital services to our veterans in a location that is easier for them to access is common sense and should continue to be a priority for Congress in the future.”
