Congressman Peters’ Statement on September 11th Anniversary
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement on the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:
“Twelve years ago today our country was attacked, but we joined together with common purpose and resolve in the following days and months. Today we remember and honor those who had their lives taken, and the first responders and citizen heroes who saved countless other lives. The events of September 11 also reminded us of our common bonds as Americans, and how we can come together in the face of adversity and staggering loss. It is also a day to recognize the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform, and their families, have made to protect our freedoms in the years since.”
