Congressman Peters’ Statement on César Chávez Day

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement recognizing César Chávez Day.

“Today, on what would be his 86th birthday, we remember the legacy of César Chávez, and the impact that his advocacy had on the rights of workers. He organized the voices of many in order to fight injustice, and launched a movement that led to better, safer conditions for workers across America. Because of his efforts, and the efforts of other leaders like him, we have made major strides to protect America’s workers but our job is not done; we must continue to be vigilant. And I will continue to stand up for workers to ensure they are treated fairly and with the dignity they deserve.”
