Avoiding Scams

Avoiding Scams

The Federal Trade Commission issued information and tips regarding protecting oneself against scamming efforts during the coronavirus.

Individuals are encouraged to personally fact-check all information regarding coronavirus, and be aware of unapproved or misbranded products claiming to treat, test for, or prevent coronavirus.

Additionally, individuals are encouraged to remain vigilant against COVID-19 scamming websites aiming to impersonate key organizations, promote fraudulent testing or vaccines, and/or mimic virus tracking maps. Learn more about scams during COVID-19 HERE.

If you think you or someone you know has been a victim of coronavirus related cyber scams, you may file a complaint with the FTC HERE or through the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center HERE.
